A Random Act of Kindness in Kindergarten!!
Thank you to whoever delivered and set up the alphabet carpet in the Reading Corner over this past weekend!!

Take a look at some of the things we do in a full day...
7:45-8:00-Children gather outside with a teacher.
8:00-8:30-Morning errands…empty backpacks, hand in folders, independent morning work
8:30-8:35-Prayer, Pledge, Song: “You’re a Grand Old Flag””
8:35-9:00-Calendar, Weather, Seasonal songs/poems, Carpet time, Conversation Time
9:00-9:20-Religion
We Believe(Monday-Thursday)
Family Life (Friday)
9:20-10:00- Language Arts: Reading Street
(Pearson/Scott Foresman)
10:00-10:15 Snack
10:15-11:00-Centers (centers vary week to week…includes: computer, art, writing,reading
listening, math, and science)
When Center Activity is complete, children have assigned playgroups:
Housekeeping/Dress-up/ Doll Corner
Reading Corner/Typing/Stamping
Puzzles/Board Games
Blocks/Marbles
Games of Imagination
11:00-11:45-Math: Mathematics (Houghton-Mifflin)
11:30-11:50- Recess
11:50-12:20- Lunch
12:20-12:50-Book Time (various genres of music)
I use this time for one on one support, conferencing, etc.
12:50-1:30-Science/Social Studies/National Geographic
1:30-1:55- Literature based on current class themes/seasons.
Music/Movement
1:55-2:05-Pack up
2:05-2:10 Closing Prayer
2:10-Dismiss Bus students, then riders
NOTE: This is a very loose guide to our day. As much as we like to get everything in, some days
we just can’t. With a group of children this age, anything can and often does happen!!
*Miscellaneous can include special craft projects, cooking, letter centered project, etc.
